About Me
My name is Ashley Aderholt, and I am so excited to be teaching at Alabama School of Fine Arts this school year! I am originally from Birmingham, although I have lived in Mississippi most of my life. I am married to Ian, who is an Assistant Store Manager at Whole Foods. We have one dog, a chihuahua named Khaleesi. There is a very good possibility you will see pictures of her before class on occasions.
I will be out at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year because my husband and I are welcoming our daughter, Judy, into the world. I have met with the sub who will be taking over my classes while I am gone. His name is Michael Slanovits, and he is ecstatic about teaching and getting to know all the students. He is very intelligent and thoughtful, so I know students will be well taken care of while I am gone. I will be back in school at the end of October.
I previously taught at Mississippi State University and with Birmingham City Schools. My goal is for my students to have a positive narrative of their math courses and to prepare them for what their lives will look like once they graduate from ASFA. Once students leave my classroom, I want them to have the confidence to know they will be successful in their future math courses and achieve in all aspects of their lives. I believe every single child has the ability to learn and grow because I continue to learn and grow from my students on a daily basis. I am honored to be your child’s teacher and am here for whatever you or your child may need.
