TJ Beitelman
TJ Beitelman directs ASFA's Creative Writing program. He has taught writing and literature at ASFA since 2002. He holds a Master's degree in English from Virginia Tech, where he completed his Master's project in film criticism, and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Alabama, where he taught composition, literature, and creative writing, and also served as editor-in-chief of Black Warrior Review. A recipient of fellowships from the Alabama State Council on the Arts and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham, he currently serves on the board of the Alabama Writers' Forum and as President of the Alabama Writers' Cooperative.
