• BA in Math with a minor in Statistics
• Montessori Certification with the American Montessori Society in 1995
• MA in Secondary Math Education
• National Board Certified Teacher in 2003 and certified in Adolescent & Young Adulthood Math
• Ed. Specialist in Math Education

History:

• Born and raised in Malaysia; graduated from high school and then came to US for higher ed.
• After getting my BA, I was married and had 2 boys - Moneer and Seraj.
• Moved to Kuwait to be closer to family. Taught Math at the Kuwait English School for 2 years. The first Gulf War displaced my family and we moved to Birmingham, AL in Jan 1990.
• Taught at Joseph Bruno Montessori Academy for 4 years and high school math in Jefferson County for 2 years. 
• Have been a math teacher at ASFA since 1998.
• I have 3 grandchildren: Isabel, Haris, and Samuel and they are the loves of my lifeJ!
