Bonjour!

My name is Katie Gordon, and this is my 18th year of teaching.  This will be my sixth year teaching at ASFA, but I feel quite at home in these halls because I also went to school here. (Proud dance department alumna!!)

I graduated from Birmingham-Southern College with a degree in both French and dance, so I was able to continue studying both of my passions in one place.  I then went to the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Université de Grenoble to complete my Masters in French Education.  After teaching in the Birmingham City School system for two years and the Jefferson County school system for five years, I went back to UAB and received my EdS in Teacher Leadership.  I continued teaching in Jefferson County for another five years before coming home to ASFA.  I'm so happy to be here!

I love learning about other cultures, other people, and other languages.  I feel that we learn so much more about ourselves when we are open to learning about new experiences.  I challenge my students to do the same--both in and out of the classroom.

I look forward to the 2022-2023 school year, no matter what it brings!
